A man struck and killed by a train Monday night in North Rome has been identified.
According to a Rome Police report, 49-year old Dale R. Frix of Woodward Street was hit by the train on Callahan Street just off North Broad at around 10:00pm
The train was going about 35 miles per hour and Frix reportedly tried to get out of the way but was unable to do so. He was transported from the scene to Floyd Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
