A two vehicle crash involving an 18 wheeler and an SUV shutdown a portion of the Chestnut Bypass Friday afternoon.
According to the accident report the mishap involved a 2001 Chevy Tahoe being driven by 30 year old Centre resident Neil Golden and a 2007 Peterbilt driven by 45 year old Curtis Crain of Frankliton, Louisiana.
Golden and a small child in his vehicle were treated at the scene by Cherokee EMS, Crain was not hurt.
The truck was hauling a load of gravel and overturned near CVS. Cedar Bluff Police, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, Cherokee EMS, the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Centre Firefighters responded to the scene.
The roadway was shut down for an extended period of time as crews worked to upright the 18 wheeler.
