iStock/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) — Wall Street closed mixed Wednesday as the Dow found support after a surge in oil prices, fueled by a long-awaited agreement led by OPEC to curb crude-oil output around the world.
The Dow gained 1.98 (+0.01 percent) to finish at 19,123.58.
The Nasdaq fell 56.24 (-1.05 percent) to close at 5,323.68, while the S&P 500 finished at 2,198.81, down 5.85 (-0.27 percent) from its open.
Crude oil jumped nearly 9 percent with prices hitting almost $49 a barrel.
