Man Facing Charge of Vehicular Homicide After Fatal Highway 27 Wreck

A Silver Creek man is facing Vehicular Homicide charges in northwest Georgia following the fatal accident occurring Tuesday morning Highway 27 just past Armuchee High School.

According to reports, Jason Duvall, 36, was traveling northbound in his Chevy pickup when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with an oncoming Toyota truck driven by 64 year old Jimmy Gribble of Armuchee.  Gribble’s vehicle spun around and struck a Dodge van driven by James Tidwell, also of Armuchee.

Tidwell was unhurt in the crash, while Gribble was pronounced dead at the scene.

In addition to Vehicular Homicide Duvall is facing charges of Habitual Violator, Driving with a Suspended License and Failure to Maintain a Single-Lane.

Police say Duvall told officers he didn’t know why he crossed the center line.
