Jason LaVeris/FilmMagic(LOS ANGELES) — Some pretty, pretty, pretty good news for fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm: on-and-offscreen husband and wife Ted Danson and Mary Steenburgen will return to HBO’s Emmy winning series.
Danson, who played himself as a frequent thorn in the side of David’s onscreen alter-ego, can currently be seen on NBC’s spiritual comedy The Good Place. Steenburgen, who also played herself on David’s show, is a cast member on Fox’s The Last Man on Earth.
Deadline reports that in addition to recurring characters, the series’ long-awaited ninth season will also feature core cast members Jeff Garlin, Cheryl Hines, and Susie Essman.
Garlin, who has gone on to play the patriarch of ABC’s The Goldbergs, reportedly has a clause that gave him the freedom to work on Curb, if and when creator Larry David decided to start a ninth season — which he officially did in June.
Hines, who now stars on Fox’s Son of Zorn, will also have free time to work on Curb, as will Essman, who is a recurring character on Broad City.
