From Superintendent of Education Mitchell Guice:

It was falsely reported on Facebook that Bibles were removed from Centre Middle School. There have been absolutely no Bibles removed from ANY of the Cherokee County Schools. No employees have been instructed to remove any Bibles from our schools.

We had two Bibles at Centre Middle School that were moved from the lobby of the school to another area of the school. Your child has a right to have a Bible with them each day at school.

During non-instructional times at school, your child can legally distribute Bibles, discuss matters of faith, and read their Bible.  Board employees may also have their Bibles with them at work each day.

There are more laws and rules governing employees than students, but our employees can still have their Bibles at school. Please call 256-706-4491 if you need additional information.
