Two Hurt in Highway 9 Accident Wednesday Morning

Two people were injured in a three-vehicle wreck on Highway 9 early Wednesday morning.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency accident report the mishap occurred at 5:40am, involving a 2001 Chevrolet being driven by a 22 year old Piedmont resident Dustin Hunt, a 1999 Dodge being driven by 64 year old Gene Hardin, also of Piedmont – and a 2016 Chrysler driven by 33 year old Jonathan Maddox of Centre.

Reports indicated that both Hunt and Hardin were hurt in that accident; however there was no additional information regarding the extent of their injuries.  Maddox escaped injury.

The cause of that accident remains under investigation by state troopers.
