CHASE Pair

A high-speed through East Gadsden resulted in the arrest of two men on drug charges.

It started with citizen complaints alleging that drug activity had been taking place, at a park in the Green Pastures area; upon arrival officers witnessed what appeared to be a drug deal taking place around a white, four-door vehicle.

After seeing authorities, the driver sped away with the pursuit continuing down Springfield Road; during that time, officers saw something being thrown from the suspect’s vehicle; the chase continued down Litchfield Avenue and back to Highway 431 South with the vehicle at last being forced into the parking lot of a Shell station near Glencoe.

Both occupants of the car, 23 year old Andres Morgan, and 36 year old Travis Pearson, both of Gadsden were placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Reckless Endangerment and Attempting to Elude.

Deputy Commander Phil Sims stated that a search of the vehicle turned up $1,900 in cash in addition to packaging for drugs and marijuana in the items tossed from the car.

Morgan and Pearson were transported to the Etowah County Detention Center where bond was set at $5,500 each.
