One person was injured following a single vehicle accident on County Road 131 in Cedar Bluff just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday night.

According to reports, the vehicle apparently missed the curve on County Road 131, left the roadway clipped a powerpole and came to rest against a fence. 

Cedar Bluff Police, the Cedar Bluff Fire Department, Cherokee EMS and the Cherokee County Rescue Squad were dispatched to the scene. Rescue workers had to use the jaws of life to extricate the passenger in the car, he was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS ground units for treatment while the driver fortunately walked away unharmed.

Cherokee Electric crews were also called to the scene as the impact knocked out power to the area for a brief period of time.
