One person was injured after falling several feet from the rocks at Cherokee Rock Village on Saturday.

The victim, identified as Phillip Parker of Calhoun, Georgia, apparently suffered only minor injuries and was taken by Cherokee EMS ground units to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The Sand Rock Fire Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Cherokee EMS responded to the scene. Initially a Lifesaver air transport unit was called to the scene but was cancelled.
