George Statem Alexander, age 84 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, May 4th at his residence.

Funeral services will be 3:PM Saturday, May 7th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Larry Perkins and Rev. Ray Brown officiating; burial will follow in Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:PM Friday.

Pallbearers include Shawney Meade, Chris Collins, Dennis Estes, Matthew McGatha, Billy McGatha, Sandy Gowens.

Survivors include his wife, Willene McGatha Alexander; sons, Rickey Gossett, Jerry Gossett, Terry Gossett all of Centre and David Patty of Leesburg; daughter, Renea Gossett of Centre; brothers, Jerry Alexander and Charles Alexander both of Cedar Bluff; sister, Jessie (Net) Alexander of Centre; special sisiter-in-law, Shirley Johnson; special niece, Janice Cotton; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews; special granddaughters, Stacy Veiasquez , Jamie Naverro and Talla Rice.

Mr. Alexander was a native of Cherokee County and was a member of the Gospel Light House.
