The body of 17 year-old Aaron Coles of Valley Head was recovered at around 4:15 p.m. on Friday afternoon. Early reports said that Coles had jumped or fallen, but officials are now saying that the teen was just swimming with friends but became exhausted and went under water.
Coles was a very popular Senior football player at Valley Head.
“It’s a really hard day we’re a small community and this was one of the local students,” said Park Supervisor Ken Thomas.
Counselors will be at his school to help students and staff cope with the loss.
