Mr. Finnis L. “Sam” Mills

Mr. Finnis L. “Sam” Mills, age 83, of Cedar Bluff, passed away on Tuesday March 15th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Memorial Services will be held 3 P.M. Saturday March 19th at Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church, with Dr. Don Wright officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 P.M. until 3 P.M. Saturday.

Survivors include his wife Janet Drew Mills, sons Steve (Jennifer) Paterno of Cold Springs, KY., Jimmy (Kelly) Mills of Batavia, OH.; daughters Geselle (Gary) Hargis of Hamilton, OH., Joy Mills of Mason, OH., Michelle (Tracy) Lyons of Hamilton, OH., Jill (Rich) Powell of Roanoke, VA., Cheri Mills-Combs of Hamilton, OH., Heather (Jeff) Kenneweg; sisters Anna Lee Blalock of Valley, AL., Joy (Vernon) Womack of Cedar Bluff, Janice (Gordon) Miller of Cave Springs, GA., Sue Houze; 7 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his granddaughter Kelsey.

Mr. Mills was a native of Everette Springs, GA, the son of late Bishop and Mary Barnett Mills, and a member of the Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church. He was in the Army and served in the Korean War, and later retired from Ford Motor Company.He was an active member of the Cherokee County Civitans, a Mason, and a member of the Syrian Shrine Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cedar Bluff First United Methodist Church.
