A 17 year old Cedar Bluff teen has been charged with Capital Murder in connection with the death of 20 year old Sarah Ortiz of Valley Head.
Ortiz had been reported missing from DeKalb County and her body was discovered by a fisherman in Weiss Lake in Leesburg back on July 18.
Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver said that 17 year old Riley J. Henderson of Cedar Bluff, was arrested and charged with capital murder.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time.
The Leesburg Police Department, Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office are participating in the investigation.
