A two-vehicle wreck on Williamson Street in Rome brought down a utility pole Wednesday afternoon.
According to Rome Police reports that accident occurred shortly after 3:00pm and involved a Ford SUV and a Saturn SUV.
One of the vehicles was traveling toward Shorter Avenue while the other was going toward Wilkerson Road – when they clipped mirrors – and as a result, the Ford struck a utility pole, bringing it down across the roadway, before traveling backwards and finally coming to rest in some trees in a church parking lot.
The driver did complain of injuries but didn’t seem to be seriously hurt.
