Four people have been arrested by Gadsden Police in connection with two robberies which took place over the weekend in Etowah County.
A report was filed by a 22 year old victim who said that he had been robbed in the 200 block of South 13th Street shortly before 11:00pm as he pulled up at the home of a friend. He said there were four men standing around when one of those individuals approached him and attempted to take his car keys. The man then pulled a handgun and pistol-whipped the victim – then took his iPhone along with speakers and an amp from the car.
At around the same time a 25 year old man nearby was leaving for work when he witnessed that robbery; he told police he was then approached by another man with dreadlocks, wearing a white shirt and shorts – asking if he (quote) “had any weed.” – before punching him in the stomach and face before pulling a gun.
According to police reports he took $50 in cash and some credit cards from the victim.
Both gunmen then left in a white Pontiac Bonneville.
Officers later responded to a report that the vehicle had been seen at Forest River Apartments – and the car was later pulled over on East Broad Street.
Those arrested in connection with the two robberies included: 43 year old Mark Wagnon, 20 year old Malcolm Ragland and 18 year old Dalvin Johnson.
All three were charged with Robbery 1st Degree and are currently being held without bond in the Etowah County Detention Center.
A seventeen year old juvenile was also taken into custody at the scene.
