An 18 wheel car hauler – fully loaded with vehicles – went up in flames early Monday afternoon in Leesburg.

Firefighters with the Leesburg and Centre departments responded to the location on Highway 68 East shortly after 1:30pm – quickly bringing the blaze under control; however, the hauler and the vehicles aboard were destroyed by the flames.

Leesburg Police Officers and Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Deputies also responded to the scene.

Its unclear at this time what caused the truck to catch on fire.
