A Friday night fire at an abandoned storage building in Rome remains under investigation.
Rome/Floyd County Fire Department Battalion Chief Phil Litton, said stated that the fire, located at the corner of Howell and Anderson, was quickly brought under control with crews winding up the operation by around 8:30 that night; however by the time firefighters arrived on the scene the 1,600 square foot storage building had received extensive damage.
Litton added that a similar incident had occurred at the same location last month.
