A 20-year old man accused of killing a 3-year old child in Floyd County remains jailed without bond. Meanwhile, authorities say a report on the official cause and manner of death is expected within the next month.
Ella Camp died September the 19th after being rushed to Children’s at Scottish Rite Pediatric Hospital in Atlanta.
David Zachary Gresham, the boyfriend of Ella’s mother at the time, was then charged the girl’s death. Police have said there are no other suspects in the homicide investigation.
According to police reports, Gresham had been with Ella on September 17th before he took the girl and her family to Floyd Medical Center about 11:25 a.m. that day.
Ella was unresponsive and had extreme head trauma.
Gresham then left the area.
Ella was flown that day to Children’s at Scottish Rite Pediatric Hospital.
Gresham was arrested September the 18th on a probation warrant.
Ella died the following day and Gresham was charged with murder.
Initially he was held in the Floyd County Jail, but was transferred to the Polk County Jail.
