The Cherokee County girls volleyball tournament, will take place this Saturday at Spring Garden High School.
Play begins at 9:00am when Gaylesville meets Cedar Bluff. The winner of that game will battle the Class 2A, No. 5 Lady Wildcats of Sand Rock at 11:00.
Host Spring Garden and Cherokee County have a first serve time set for 10:00am. The Garden Girls are currently ranked No. 4 in Class 1A.
Winners of those matches advance to the 1:00pm semi-finals. Losers’ bracket games are set for noon, 2:00pm and 3:00pm.
The championship match is scheduled for 4:00pm (5:00pm if necessary).
Sand Rock is the defending champion and top seed.

Southside-Gadsden fell one spot to No. 8 among Class 5A squads. In Class 4A, Jacksonville and Guntersville remain at No. 1 and 2 respectively. Geraldine holds steady at No. 7 in Class 3A.
In Class 2A, it’s West End and Sand Rock in the 4th and 5th positions. Class 1A, Spring Garden retains the No. 4 position for the second week in a row.
The Garden Girls are two spots behind 2012 State Champions Donoho. Sacred Heart continues to lurk at No. 9.
