Dekalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris has announced that every high school in the county now has a School Resource Officer, thanks to the County Commission and the DeKalb County School Board.
Sheriff Harris says having an officer at each school has been a goal of his since 2006.
When he took office in 2007, there were only three School Resource Officers and now there are eight.
Harris says the goal now is to have a School Resource Officer at Ruhama, Moonlake and Henagar schools.
Currently, they rotate the SRO’s they have now to check on those schools and teach the D.A.R.E. Program.
