Gadsden Police received a call at around 4:00pm Friday (May 17th) – from a 29 year old woman saying that she had been robbed by her 21 year old boyfriend at her residence in the 800 block of Raley Street. The victim said her boyfriend came in demanding money, and when she refused, he allegedly beat her before stealing her cell phone and $200 in cash.

She was transported to Gadsden Regional Medical Center for treatment.

During questioning, the woman told the officers no one else had been inside the home at the time of the incident – however – the woman’s 55 year old mother called police regarding that incident and claimed that she was present during the robbery and had been robbed of $80 in cash.

The mother said she drove to a different location before calling police.

The investigation is on-going for both reports.
