An Oneonta man has been arrested in connection to a recent theft, according to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
Lt. Robin Grant says that 36 year old Donny Brian Putman of Oneonta, is charged with one count of first degree theft of property, which is a felony.
Putman allegedly stole a 1969 Dodge Coronet Super Bee vehicle. The vehicle was to be restored by Putman at his shop that was located in Altoona. The owner of the vehicle attempted to contact Putman many times over the course of several months; however, Putman was elusive in his response to the victim.
When Putman was evicted from the building where his shop was located, the victim made contact with the building’s owner to retrieve his vehicle. But, the car was not inside the building. The vehicle has not yet been located.
Putman was booked into the Etowah County Detention Center and later released on $5,000 bond.
