Law enforcement officers responded to the KTH Plant in Leesburg on Friday night in response to a report of a bomb threat.
According to information released by Leesburg Police Chief Lanny Rasnum, Officer Jimmy Deberry was dispatched to the plant in response to the threat.
Chief Ransum was notified and also responded, along with Officer Deberry to evaluate the situation.
Chief Ransum contacted Leesburg Investigator Brian Gilliland who is also assigned to the Cherokee County Major Crime Unit. The Major Crimes Unit contacted Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Agent Mike Murray who is a Bomb Technician who also responded as a precautionary.
Chief Ransum told WEIS Radio News a message was posted on the bathroom wall in the ladies room in the middle of the plant. The message was written with a marker used by most employees to mark welds on the parts.
The investigation is ongoing and more information will be released as it becomes available.
The all clear was given shortly after 11:00 p.m. Friday night after the initial call came at just after 6:30, the building was not evacuated.
