A Boaz couple has been arrested in connection with charges of child abuse.

According to Etowah County Sheriff Todd Entrekin, Charles Calvin Peppers, 37, and 33 year old Misty Dawn Peppers, stand accused of abusing a five year old boy through what is being termed “severe medical neglect”; over the course of a three-month long investigation it was learned that the abuse had been on-going for approximately two years.

Both stand charged with Aggravated Child Abuse – and are being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on bonds of $25,000 each; as a condition of their bonds the couple are not allowed unsupervised contact with any child under the age of eighteen.
