Gunman Reportedly Robs Couple of $3,200 in Cash

A gunman reportedly made off with about $3,200 in cash, following a holdup of two people late Sunday night in Gadsden. Police reports indicate that the incident took place at around 11:00pm in the 700 block of Henry Street, where the victims – a 26 year old female and a 25 year old male – had gone to pick someone up.

They said when they arrived at the residence, no one appeared to be home – they then went onto the porch and were confronted by a black male armed with a gun.

The suspect allegedly struck the male in the face – knocking him down; he then held the gun to the head of the female and demanded money, saying otherwise, he would kill her.

The suspect then fled the area with the money.

He was described as being approximately five-eleven (5’11”), weighing around 150 pounds – he was wearing an orange pullover and jeans when the incident occurred.

The matter remains under investigation by the Gadsden Police Department.
