United States Senator Richard Shelby made a brief stop in Centre on Thursday afternoon.
This marked the 25th stop in the Senators state wide tour – Shelby said that he is making it top priority to visit all 67 Alabama Counties each year in order to hear from constituents about the impact of the Obama Administrations policies on the working middle class families, jobs and economic growth.
Senator Shelby went on to say that he believes seeing folks face to face is the best way to discuss the important issues currently facing our nation and state.
During Shelby’s visit to Centre he along with staff members as well as Cherokee County Probate Judge Kirk Day, Theresa Hulgan Executive Director of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce and several officials with American Apparel toured the facility in order to get a look at some the latest technology being used in the manufacturing industry.
