James O’Neal Wade, age 74, of Centre, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2026. Born on February 16, 1952, James was the son of Eugene Wade and Clara Wade. James was a hardworking man who spent his professional life as a carpenter. He took pride in working with his hands, and his years of craftsmanship reflected the dedication and determination he brought to his work. James was known for his wonderful sense of humor and strong work ethic. He had a way of making people laugh and bringing smiles to those around him. His personality was one of a kind, and those who knew him will always remember the laughter, stories, and memories he leaves behind. One of James’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He enjoyed spending time near the water, casting a line, and appreciating the simple pleasures of life. James is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Wade; his five sons, Randy Wade, David Wade, Brad Wade, Daniel Wade, and Adam Wade; his daughters-in-law, Nicole Wade, Cassandra Aschwege, Jennifer Wade, and Beverly Wade; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; numerous stepchildren and step-grandchildren; and his brother, Johnny Wade. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Wade and Clara Wade; his siblings, Bobby Wade, Billy Wade, and Gail Wade; and his beloved grandson, Colton Wade. James leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a legacy that extends far beyond the things he built with his hands. His humor, dedication, and hardworking spirit will be remembered by those who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us, the stories, laughter, and memories he gave his family will remain in their hearts forever. Forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 18, 2026 at Calcedonia Baptist Church at 2:00PM, the family will receive friends from 1:00PM till of time of service at the church, burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
