Troopers said Morgan was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Authorities pronounced him dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate. No further information was available in the agency’s release.
Seat Belts Help Protect Drivers and Passengers
For everyday travel, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration recommends buckling up on every trip, in every seating position. Because seat belts help keep occupants inside a vehicle during a crash, proper use can reduce serious and fatal injuries.
The agency also emphasizes that airbags work with seat belts and do not replace them. In addition, drivers and passengers should wear the lap belt snugly across their hips and the shoulder belt across their chest.
Never place the shoulder belt behind your back or under your arm. Before driving, also make sure everyone in the vehicle has the appropriate restraint for their age and size.
