SECTION – Sylas Adams caught five passes for 129 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 45 yards on three carries and added two more scores in helping the Collinsville Panthers earn a 48-6 Class 2A, Region 8 football victory at Section on Friday.

Mason McAteer completed 10-of-12 pass attempts for 255 yards and a touchdown for the Panthers (5-1, 4-0). Gavin Lang had three catches for 82 yards.

Logan Hanson posted 48 yards on eight carries with two scores. Noah Johnson ran for 47 yards on three totes with a touchdown.

Collinsville built a 14-0 lead in the first quarter on an Adams 20-yard run and a Hanson 2-yard run.

After the Lions (1-5, 0-4) cut the Panther lead to 14-6 on a 5-yard pass in the second, McAteer connected with Adams on a long touchdown to push the Panther lead out to 20-6.

Johnson added a 28-yard touchdown run and Kyler Beene recovered a fumble on a fake punt attempt for another score to give Collinsville a 34-6 edge.

Adams and Hanson scored on runs of 20 and 3 yards for the final.

Collinsville hosts North Sand Mountain on Friday.
