ROME– Floyd County SAT scores rose 26 points for the Class of 2026, Floyd County Schools announced October 1.
The district’s 170 test takers averaged 1,103. That also marked its seventh straight year above Georgia and national public-school averages.
Meanwhile, participation increased by 13 students from the previous graduating class.
In addition, the district finished 72 points above Georgia’s average of 1,031 and 92 above the national average of 1,011.
The results cover graduates who took the SAT. According to the College Board, total SAT scores range from 400 to 1,600. Reading and Writing and Math section scores each range from 200 to 800.
Floyd County Schools also provided SAT tutoring through Sylvan Learning last year. District leaders plan to offer that opportunity again soon.
Superintendent Glenn White credited students, educators, and district leaders for the achievement. He also thanked parents and the community for their support.
