Firefighters were dispatched to a structure fire on County Road 97 Thursday afternoon. Once they were able to navigate the long, chert, and steep drive way to the fire, they found a two story structure on fire. The departments were not able to get their pumpers and tankers up to the fire due to condition of the driveway. They managed to battle the blaze with their brush trucks which had limited water capabilities. According to the report the structure was a total loss.

When firemen arrived on the scene they observed a male subject fleeing into a wooded area. The Sheriff Department was called and the subject was arrested on the scene. He was identified as Douglas Obenskey. He was charged with theft of property 1^st, attempting to elude, 2 counts of burglary 3^rd, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful breaking in entering of a vehicle, receiving stolen property 1^st, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Fire Marshall was also called. The Broomtown, Gaylesville and Cedar Bluff Departments were on the scene for several hours trying to control and extinguish the fire.
