Mr. William “Phillip” Abernathy, age 67 of Centre, passed away on September 25, 2026, at Atrium Health Floyd Medical Center in Rome, GA.
There will not be a service, per Phillip’s request.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Abernathy; daughter, Whitney Watson of Denver, CO; son, Colby (Megan) Abernathy of Sand Rock; grandsons, Knox and Tate Abernathy; special friends, Jeff Gossett and Chase Gossett.
Mr. Abernathy was born in Centre, AL to the late W.C. and Mae Abernathy.
He was a Cherokee County High School Graduate, Class of 1977. Phillip’s greatest joys were found in the simple pleasures of life: cheering on his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide, helping pick cotton, and spending beautiful days on the lake with his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, a deep love for his roots, and countless cherished memories with the family he adored.
