CENTRE — Cherokee County High School’s Ava Haygood surpassed 1,500 career kills and 250 career aces in the Lady Warriors’ 25-16, 25-11, 25-18 area volleyball win over Sardis on Thursday.

The Lady Warriors also lost to Alexandria 15-25, 15-25.

For the day, Haygood collected 19 kills, 13 digs and five aces. Jolie Alexander accumulated 17 kills, seven digs, three blocks, two assists and an ace. Sydni Frost contributed 20 assists and four digs.

Mattie Green managed 16 assists, 11 digs, a block, and an ace. Taniya Fife delivered six kills, three aces, a block and two assists.

The Lady Warriors (24-11) await the winner of Saturday’s Cedar Bluff-Gaylesville match in the Cherokee County Tournament arcane Rock on Saturday.
