GADSDEN– Gadsden State Community College will host a free AI Community Caravan workshop at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 23.
The session runs until 4:15 p.m. in Helderman Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus. The campus address is 1001 George Wallace Drive in Gadsden.
Hands-on learning for beginners
The workshop welcomes the public, including beginners with no AI experience. Participants will learn what artificial intelligence is and how people already use it in everyday life.
They will also explore how AI can support work and learning. In addition, the program will address common myths and misconceptions about the technology.
Attendees will also try real-world AI tools through hands-on activities. According to the college, those activities aim to provide practical skills participants can use right away.
Part of a statewide effort
Meanwhile, the Alabama Community College System is offering AI awareness and literacy training across Alabama throughout September.
The caravan aims to help individuals, businesses, and communities understand and use emerging technology. Other community colleges are also hosting free workshops as part of that effort.
