The city of Centre Finance Committee finalized their fiscal year-2027 budget, one that totals $6.95 million. According to Councilwoman Karen Yarbrough-Slupe, an increase of city sales-tax revenue is the driving force behind the increase from the $6.005 million ‘26 budget.

While the actual revenue was $7.7 million, the committee is adhering to a budget of 90% of that figure. In the Finance Committee meeting Tuesday at 4:00 pm, Slupe relayed specific expenditures for each department. The city approved the budget in the council meeting that followed.
