CENTRE– The CSAF Christmas for Kids fundraiser combines a barbecue presale with a countywide toy drive. Both efforts will support Cherokee County children and older residents in need.

BBQ Preorders and Festival Pickup

The Children and Seniors Assistance Foundation is taking preorders for smoked Boston butts for $35. The group is also selling smoked bologna logs for $20.

Supporters may place orders through any CSAF board member. In addition, they may use the QR codes on CSAF’s official promotional materials.

Customers may pick up their orders at the Centre Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 8 to 11 a.m. Anyone who needs a different pickup time should make arrangements in advance.

During the festival, CSAF will also sell barbecue sandwiches and smoked bologna sandwiches. The group will offer BT’s Sexy Sauce while supplies last.

Toy Drive Expands Christmas Effort

Meanwhile, CSAF has opened a new toy drive through its Christmas for Kids program. Organizers hope to provide Christmas assistance to approximately 350 children this year.

Residents can leave new, unwrapped toys at the Centre Fire Department, Centre Police Department, or Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. Additional drop-off sites include Little River Canyon Cafe and the Cedar Bluff Police Department.

The foundation also accepts monetary donations. Last year, the Christmas for Kids program served 317 children, according to CSAF.

Beyond the Christmas campaign, CSAF says all proceeds remain in Cherokee County. Those funds also help children and older residents throughout the year. CSAF’s work includes additional assistance for vulnerable residents across the county.

CSAF operates as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Tax law may allow donors to deduct qualifying contributions.
