MONTGOMERY– The Alabama Department of Public Health Home Care program has earned a 2025 SHPBest “Superior Performer” Patient Experience Award.
Strategic Healthcare Programs recognized the agency for placing among the top 20% of eligible SHP clients in overall patient satisfaction. The results came from Home Health Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey data.
“We are incredibly proud to receive the Superior Performer award for 2025,” State Homecare Director Choona Lang said. “This recognition belongs to our dedicated clinicians and staff who work tirelessly in our patients’ homes every day.”
The annual SHPBest program recognizes home health agencies that consistently provide high-quality patient service. For 2025, SHP reviewed and ranked overall experience scores from more than 3,200 home health providers.
Additionally, SHP President Jason Ballet praised the organizations receiving recognition.
“This program lets us recognize the organizations that never settle, that keep improving the patient and caregiver experience even when they’re already performing at a high level,” Ballet said. “That kind of commitment deserves to be celebrated.”
SHP maintains one of the nation’s largest benchmarks using the patient-experience survey data. Therefore, the organization uses those results to identify providers that make patient experience a priority.
