Mr. Bobby Laney Doeg, age 83, of Centre, passed away on September 3, 2026, in Cherokee County.
Mr. Doeg was preceded in death by his parents, Hezzie L. Doeg and M. Jewell Doeg.
Bobby worked in Interstate Highway Construction Engineering in Atlanta, Georgia, for 10 years before retiring from Bekaert Steel, where he served as Purchasing Manager for 32 years. He was also a dedicated soybean and cotton farmer.
Mr. Doeg was an active and longtime member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Deacon for 30 years. His faith, service, and love for his church family were an important part of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lynn Reed Doeg; daughter, Robin (Damon) Mackey; son, Jeremy (Christy) Doeg; grandchildren, Brett Mackey, Dylan Mackey, Jackson Doeg, and Ella Kate Doeg; brother, H. Alan Doeg; and his beloved Pine Grove Baptist Church family.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 6, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Perry Funeral Home, with Rev. Dr. Rickey Pollard and Rev. Dr. Zach Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include: Brett Mackey, Dylan Mackey, Jackson Doeg, Davis Williamson, Kevin Roberts, and Wayne Early.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at Perry Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund.
The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Amedisys Hospice for all their loving care and support during this difficult time.
