Mrs. Sharon Steed Givens, age 71, of Centre, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
The family will receive friends at Perry Funeral Home on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow visitation at 3:00 p.m. in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eddie Nation officiating. The family will have a private burial service.
Sharon is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Jimmy A. Givens; son, Shane Givens and his wife, Katy; daughter, Felicia Case and her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Colin Givens, Ellisan Givens, Ross Smith, and Madison Smith; and brother, Derrick Steed and his wife, Tammy.
Sharon was happiest when she was with the people she loved. She and Jimmy shared 54 years of marriage and a lifetime of memories together. Through the years, they enjoyed traveling and seeing new places, always making memories along the way.
More than anything, Sharon loved her family. She dearly loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she affectionately called her “angels.” Whether it was a special occasion or just an ordinary day spent together, family time was something she truly cherished. She was proud of her children and grandchildren, and they brought so much happiness to her life.
Sharon attended Noah Baptist Church and lived a life centered around the people who meant the most to her. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. While she will certainly be missed, her family is thankful for the many good years, happy times, and sweet memories they were blessed to share with her.
Pallbearers will be Colin Givens, Ross Smith, Shane Givens, Derrick Steed, Hubie Latham, and Travis West.
The family will accept flowers, or memorial donations may be made in Sharon’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
