CENTRE-A Single vehicle accident occurred on West Main Street in Centre Monday afternoon. The vehicle went out of control and overturned, knocking down a light pole. The driver was trapped inside the wreckage for a time until the Cherokee County Rescue Squad and Centre Fire Department could extricate him.
He was transported by Atrium Floyd EMS to a local hospital for treatment.
The accident happened about 2:25, with Centre Police investigating, the Centre Fire Department, Cherokee County Rescue Squad, and Atrium Floyd EMS responding.
