OHATCHEE– An Anniston woman was killed Tuesday morning in a head-on collision involving a car and an 18-wheel tractor-trailer.
Ohatchee Police officers responded to Alabama Highway 77 at Margie Lane around 5:25 a.m. on July 14.
Police said the crash involved a 2017 Kia Forte and the tractor-trailer.
The Kia’s driver, 32-year-old Cia Carmeshia Williams of Anniston, was pronounced dead at the scene by Calhoun County Coroner Pat Brown.
The tractor-trailer driver suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Police did not release additional information about the driver’s condition.
The Ohatchee Police Department extended its condolences to Williams’ family, friends and others affected by the crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
