New Property to be Home of Cedar Bluff Police Department

At the July 13th Town Council meeting, Cedar Bluff approved the purchase of a piece of property that will become the home of the town’s police department. The property is on the corner of Spring Street and Highway 68 next to the lot where the municipal offices are already located. The police department currently shares the same building as other Cedar Bluff agencies.

Mayor Bill Warren reported that the purchase will total $160,000, but that $60,000 of that will come from monies that must be spent by December on the police department. Warren also stated that inquiries on building a new structure had exceeded the price they would pay for this property.

The council unanimously approved the purchase.
