Glencoe Police Chief Joins Library’s Patriotic Summer Reading Program

GLENCOE-Glencoe Police Chief Kenon McKenzie recently served as a guest reader during the Glencoe Public Library’s patriotic Summer Reading Program.

The Glencoe Police Chief spent time reading to children and sharing in their excitement. The police department said the program encouraged education, service, patriotism and family.

The department said reading to children helps encourage a love of learning. It also allows officers to build positive relationships with young people and show their support beyond the classroom.

Mayor Chris Hare led the Pledge of Allegiance during the event. Craig Reynolds led the prayer, while members of the Glencoe High School Band performed the national anthem.

The department thanked the Glencoe Public Library for hosting the program. Officials also thanked everyone who attended and helped make the event successful.

The Glencoe Police Department said it remains committed to supporting programs that strengthen the community and inspire the next generation.
