
OHATCHEE-An Ohatchee man has been arrested in connection with an attempted murder investigation stemming from an incident that occurred June 20 in Ohatchee.According to the Ohatchee Police Department, officers, along with agents from the 7th Judicial Circuit Major Crimes Unit, deputies with the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, and officers from the Oxford Police Department, executed an arrest warrant Friday, June 26, for Luke Earl Jones of Ohatchee.
Authorities say the warrant was served at a residence located on Jackson Trace Road in Ohatchee. The arrest was made without incident, and an Ohatchee Police Department officer transported Jones to the Calhoun County Jail.
Jones is currently being held without bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
Ohatchee Director of Public Safety and Police Chief Alan Kelly thanked the agencies involved in the investigation and said he looks forward to working with the Calhoun County District Attorney’s Office as the case moves forward.
As with all criminal charges, Jones is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
