OXFORD — Residents in the Gann Road area may notice an increased law enforcement presence and hear loud noises on Wednesday, June 10, as the Oxford Police Department conducts a planned training exercise.
According to the Oxford Police Department, the training will take place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. near Gann Road. The exercise is designed to enhance officers’ preparedness and improve the department’s ability to respond effectively to emergency situations.
Officials emphasized that the activity is strictly a training operation and does not pose any threat to the public.
The department is advising residents that they may observe numerous police vehicles and personnel in the area throughout the day, along with sounds associated with the training exercise.
The Oxford Police Department said the training is part of its ongoing efforts to ensure officers are equipped with the skills and experience necessary to respond to emergencies and protect the community.
