RAINBOW CITY — The Rainbow City Police Department is encouraging residents with outstanding Failure to Appear warrants through Rainbow City Municipal Court to take advantage of a two-month amnesty program beginning June 1.
According to information released by the Rainbow City Police Department, Rainbow City Municipal Court will hold Court Amnesty Month throughout June and July, giving individuals with unresolved Failure to Appear warrants an opportunity to address their cases without the threat of immediate arrest.
Officials said the court will waive all Failure to Appear fees for anyone who voluntarily comes forward and takes steps to resolve their case during the amnesty period.
Depending on the circumstances, residents may be able to pay original fines, establish payment plans, or return to compliance with court-ordered programs.
The Rainbow City Police Department said the initiative is designed to provide residents with a practical path to resolve outstanding court matters and become compliant with court requirements.
The amnesty period will run from June 1 through July 31. Individuals are encouraged to visit Rainbow City Municipal Court in person Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
For more information, residents may contact Rainbow City Municipal Court at (256) 442-1216.
