RAINBOW CITY — The Rainbow City Fire Department is welcoming a new firefighter to its ranks while also recognizing a longtime member for a promotion to a key leadership position.
According to the Rainbow City Fire Department, Kooper Hood has joined the department as its newest firefighter. Hood, a recent graduate of Southside High School, is scheduled to officially begin serving with Bravo Shift in the coming week.

Department officials said they are excited to welcome Hood as he begins his career in fire service, serving the citizens of Rainbow City and surrounding communities. The department also expressed optimism about his future growth and development within the organization.
In addition to welcoming a new firefighter, the department announced the promotion of Landon Ball to Assistant Chief.

Assistant Chief Ball will now serve as shift commander for Charlie Shift, taking on an expanded leadership role within the department. Fire officials said Ball’s dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to serving the community helped prepare him for the promotion.
