Crash Involving 18-Wheeler Causes Traffic Delays on Highway 68 in DeKalb County

DeKALB COUNTY— Emergency crews responded to a traffic accident involving an eighteen-wheeler and a passenger vehicle Friday along Alabama Highway 68 in DeKalb County, prompting officials to urge motorists to avoid the area and expect delays.

According to the DeKalb County Emergency Management Agency (EMA), the crash occurred on Highway 68 while traveling up the mountain toward Crossville. Authorities said the collision involved an 18-wheeler and another vehicle.

At this time, officials have confirmed that no hazardous materials were involved in the crash.

Emergency personnel remained on the scene Friday working to manage traffic and clear the roadway. Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible and use extra caution when traveling near the area.
