SCOTTSBORO – Sand Rock’s boys finished first and Cedar Bluff second in the Class 2A, Section 4 track and field meet at Scottsboro’s Trammell Stadium on Saturday.
The Wildcat boys earned a total of 154 points, followed by the Tiger boys with 78 points. Pisgah finished third with 73 points.
Sand Rock’s Will Cleere finished first in both the shot put (45’10”) and discus (128’8”), and second in the javelin (132’6”). Brody Johnson finished first in the 1600 meter run (4:42.54), first in the 3200 meter run (10:22.50), and second in the 800 meter run (2:05.88). Landon Chadwick took first in the 110 meter hurdles (17.86) and second in the 300 meter hurdles (44.89).
The Wildcat boys relay teams all finished in first place. The 4×100 meter relay team had a time of 45.29. The 4×400 meter relay team had a time of 3:38.64, and the 4×800 meter relay team had a time of 8:48.28.
Cedar Bluff’s Zyrese Wynn finished first in the 300 meter hurdles (42.37), second in the 400 meter dash (53.37), third in the 800 meter run (2:07.65), and fourth in the 200 meter dash (23.70). Shon Gleen placed second in the long jump (20’1 1/2”) and second in the triple jump (38’8”).
The Tiger boys 4×400 meter relay team finished fifth with a time of 3:45.78.
Sand Rock’s girls finished runner-up to Pisgah in the girls sectional. Pisgah earned 161 total points, followed by the Lady Wildcats’ 109 points. Tanner was third with 90 points, Pleasant Valley fourth with 56 points, and Cedar Bluff fifth with 52 points.
The Lady Wildcats’ Katelin Stiefel took first in the 3200 meter run (13:17.38) and third in the 1600 meter run (6:06.14). Mirissa King came in first in the discus (82’11”), sixth in the shot put (26’), and ninth in the javelin (66’1”). Anna King claimed second in the 800 meter run (2:38.10) and second in the 1600 meter run (6:04.57). Ayva Davis took third in the 100 meter hurdles (20.00) and eighth in the 300 meter hurdles (57.86).
The Lady Wildcat 4×800 meter relay team finished first with a time of 11:04.70.
Cedar Bluff’s Kenidee Wright placed second in the 100 meter dash (13.22), second in the 200 meter dash (27.26), and third in the 400 meter dash (1:02.78). Jakirah Brown finished fourth in the shot put (27’2”) and fifth in the long jump (13’9 1/2”). Marlee Timm was fourth in the triple jump (29’2”) and ninth in the 300 meter hurdles (58.03). Paityn Walker finished fourth in the javelin (78’4”).
The Lady Tiger 4×800 meter relay team took fourth with a time of 12:27.16.
Gaylesville’s boys tied for 10th with Jacksonville Christian in the Class 1A meet with 26 points. Aydn Heinrich led the Trojans by finishing first in the 200 meter dash (23.61), second in the 100 meter dash (11.71), and second in the 400 meter dash (53.08).
